Contribute to UI components, design systems, and reusable front-end frameworks.
Architecture & Technical Decision Support
Participate in evaluating technology options (Angular/React, Node, Webpack, NPM, etc.).
Support front-end architecture discussions to balance shortterm delivery with longterm platform modernization (micro-frontends, containerization, cloud readiness).
UI Design & Development
Implement screens, workflows, dashboards, and customerfacing modules aligned with BT security, accessibility, and performance standards.
Convert UX wireframes into pixel-perfect, responsive UI components.
Code Review & Engineering Best Practices
Participate in UI code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, performance tuning, and maintainability.
Keep updated with modern UI trends, frameworks, and industry best practices.
Technical Specifications & Documentation
Support the design of UI technical specifications for features and enhancements.
Contribute to estimation, feasibility analysis, effort breakdown, and documentation.
Coding, Testing & Quality Delivery
Write clean, modular, testable code using Angular/TypeScript, HTML5, SCSS, Bootstrap, and Jasmine/Karma.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and participate in SIT/UAT cycles.
Integration & Compatibility
Integrate UI with backend systems (APIs, Spring MVC controllers, JSP outputs).
Troubleshoot UI rendering issues, browser compatibility problems, and platform inconsistencies.
Production Support & Defect Resolution
Monitor and resolve UI defects across SIT/UAT/Production environments.
Support real-time troubleshooting for issues like CDN failures, policy changes, Zscaler/VPN migration impacts, etc.
Tooling, Automation & CI/CD
Support CI/CD pipelines for UI builds, artifact deployment, test automation, and NPM dependency management.
Contribute to implementation of linting, code formatting, quality gates, and automated builds.
Technical Roadmap Contribution
Support UI modernization initiatives such as Angular upgrades, dependency cleanup, migration to micro-frontends, or containerization (Podman/Docker).
Assist with design and execution of long-term front-end transformation roadmaps.
Engineering & Operational Excellence
Participate in performance monitoring, logging, and observability improvements (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
Help track engineering metrics like Core Web Vitals, accessibility rating, build times, and test coverage.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
Contribute to improving team processes, sprint workflows, coding guidelines, and documentation quality.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams like ASG, TI, QA, Product, and partner teams
Candidate must have strong proficiency in:

Leadership accountabilities
Experience you’d be expected to have
Acts as a Front-End Technical Authority
Demonstrates deep technical expertise across Angular, React, and Spring MVC with JSPs, serving as a goto front-end authority. Guides the team on UI architecture, coding standards, best practices, and modern engineering patterns.
Influences Technical & Architectural Decisions
Applies strong engineering judgment in solution design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making. Shapes technology choices that balance performance, maintainability, and long-term product evolution.
Owns Complex UI & Billing Components
Takes end-to-end ownership of critical front-end modules, ensuring scalable, reliable, and accurate billing and collections workflows. Provides clarity on system behaviour and ensures components meet business-critical SLAs.
Leads by Technical Example
Sets the benchmark for UI engineering quality by consistently delivering high standards in coding, testing, documentation, accessibility, and security. Encourages excellence and consistency across the UI codebase.
Resolves Complex Issues & Drives RCA
Leads troubleshooting for high-impact issues including UI rendering failures, Angular runtime errors, database/PLSQL contentions, cross-application inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks. Drives root cause analysis and implements long-term fixes.
Champions Continuous Improvement
Identifies areas for improvement across UI automation, build pipelines, tooling, observability, test coverage, and front-end throughput. Proposes and drives initiatives that elevate engineering efficiency and system reliability.
Collaborates Across Cross-Functional Teams
Engages effectively with architecture, operations, billing, assurance, database, and fraud teams—translating complex technical topics into clear, actionable insights. Provides leadership through influence, not authority, driving alignment and shared understanding.
5–8 years of hands-on front-end engineering experience building enterprise-grade applications using Angular, React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and Bootstrap—preferably within billing, collections, finance, or other large-scale transactional domains.
Strong experience delivering UI solutions integrated with Spring MVC and JSP-based backends, including designing front-end flows, optimizing page rendering, and supporting production-grade customer and back-office applications.
Good understanding of backend concepts and J2EE/Spring MVC flows, with the ability to collaborate effectively with backend engineers and troubleshoot UI–API interaction issues, response mismatches, and data-flow inconsistencies.
Proven track record in building scalable, maintainable UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks, shared libraries, and enterprise UI architecture patterns.
Demonstrated capability in writing robust unit, integration, and acceptance tests using Jasmine/Karma, Jest, or related tools—ensuring predictable delivery, regression safety, and production stability.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/Jenkins), including automated builds, test execution, deployments, linting, and secure NPM package management.
Comfortable working in Agile/Kanban environments, delivering features through continuous flow, incremental releases, and close collaboration with cross-functional squads.
Extensive experience with Jira workflows for managing requirements, defects, technical tasks, engineering stories, and delivery boards.
Strong debugging and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues across the UI, browser, API, caching, PLSQL/database, and network layers.
Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary engineering teams, actively participating in peer code reviews, design discussions, UI architecture decisions, incident triage, and production support rotations.
Exposure to observability and monitoring tools (ELK, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana) and familiarity with analysing logs and metrics to identify UI performance or reliability issues.
