Job description
United Utilities is seeking a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to deliver expert maintenance and technical support for mechanical systems and powered assets across water and wastewater sites. The role focuses on ensuring assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, with particular emphasis on renewable energy generation through anaerobic digestion. This hands-on multi-skilled role involves planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, supporting capital and operational projects, maintaining mechanical assets, working within health and safety standards, and participating in an out-of-hours standby rota. Responsibilities include performing mechanical maintenance across multiple sites, acting as Person Controlling the Works (PCW) for contractor activities, collaborating with Process Controllers to optimise asset performance, maintaining accurate maintenance records, supporting environmental compliance, reducing downtime through fault finding and root cause analysis, ensuring availability of critical mechanical spares, and coordinating contractors during project delivery and site interventions.
