Job description
Role & responsibilities
The Assistant Sales Manager Corporate FIT is responsible for driving individual corporate room business by actively maintaining an assigned portfolio of accounts and aggressively hunting for new mid-to-large scale business travel clients. This role focuses on converting leads, managing day-to-day corporate reservations and rate requests, conducting extensive field visits, and supporting the senior sales leadership during the annual RFP (Request for Proposal) cycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Field Sales Execution
Actively research and source new corporate leads through business directories, industrial hub mapping, and localized professional networking.
Conduct a high volume of cold calls, tele-sales, and face-to-face field sales visits to secure introductory meetings with corporate admin heads and travel desks.
Conduct property site tours for administrative contacts, showcasing guest rooms, executive floors, business centers, and dining outlets.
2. Daily Account Management & Service
Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned book of Local Negotiated Rate (LNR) corporate accounts, resolving day-to-day booking or billing issues.
Execute regular "account mining" to discover additional booking departments, project teams, or executive travelers within established corporate accounts.
Ensure that corporate guest profiles, specialized amenities, and specific billing instructions (e.g., Bill-to-Company, BTC setups) are meticulously updated in the Property Management System.
3. RFP Support & Rate Application
Assist the Sales Manager in preparing proposals, processing corporate rate agreements, and tracking the annual Corporate RFP pipeline.
Ensure accurate and immediate communication of newly signed corporate contracts to the Reservations, Revenue, and Front Office teams.
Coordinate with the Revenue Manager to analyze daily/weekly availability and apply tactical corporate promotions during low-occupancy periods.
4. Tracking, Analysis & Reporting
Maintain accurate updates of the sales pipeline, client databases, and daily call reports within the hotel’s CRM platform.
Extract and review weekly corporate room-night production data using Excel to identify underperforming or "sleeper" accounts.
Prepare competitive analysis reports by benchmarking local competitors' corporate promotions and amenities.
5. Guest Relations & Operations Link
Welcoming corporate VIPs and key account contacts upon arrival to foster personal relationships and build brand loyalty.
Coordinate directly with the front-of-house teams to handle sudden cancellations, early check-ins, or last-minute room upgrades for high-priority corporate travelers.
Key Competencies & Technical Skills
Execution Focus: Energetic and resilient; highly skilled at handling rejection during cold-calling and pipeline building.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor suitable for interacting with corporate HR and travel administrators.
Technical Familiarity: Comfortable using hotel PMS software (such as Opera or IDS) and proficient with MS Excel for building basic production trackers and pivot tables.
Time Management: Capable of balancing heavy field-sales schedules with desk-bound administrative tracking and reporting.
