Job description
Name Designation: Scientific Officer. Department: Lab Operations. Reports to: Lab Head/Pathologist. Objective of the Job: Ensure proper functioning of the laboratory by carrying out assigned tasks, conducting laboratory tests accurately, and reporting results on time. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments; conduct daily quality control (QC) runs and report deviations to senior staff; perform data entry for non-interfaced parameters and data transfer for interfaced instruments; communicate alert values to clients; maintain records and file instrument printouts; procure laboratory kits and materials from stores and verify batch/lot details; maintain inventory and update material consumption in the system; pack and dispatch samples to network/reference laboratories for specialized investigations; verify samples for add-on test requests; follow laboratory safety protocols; perform tests within defined turnaround time (TAT) according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens/samples as per SOP; perform any additional responsibilities assigned by management. Qualification: DMLT or B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT). Preferred Experience: 3–6 years in laboratory operations.
